You don’t always need to add contacts by hand. Wabot creates a contact automatically when someone messages you, or when you message them through a campaign or the API.

  1. On Contacts, open the bulk menu and choose Import Contacts.
  2. Answer “Will all the entries have country code for Phone number?” If you choose No, pick the country code to add.
  3. Drag in your file. Supported formats are .xls, .xlsx, .csv, .doc, .docx and .vcf, up to 5 MB. Click Download Sample for a template.
  4. Map the columns in your file to Wabot fields: Contact Name, Contact Number, Email, Date of Birth, Gender and social links.
  5. Review. Invalid cells are highlighted so you can fix them.
  6. Confirm and wait until it finishes. Don’t close the page while it runs.
  7. Optionally choose a group, then click Assign Now.

Groups are lists you send campaigns to, such as VIP customers or Webinar sign-ups.

  • Contact → Groups → Add Group: enter a name and an assigned employee.
  • Click View on a group to see its members, or Remove a contact from it.
  • To add many contacts at once, select them on the Contacts page and choose Assign to Groups from the bulk menu.

Tags are labels such as Lead, VIP or Follow-up. You can filter by them in the inbox and use them in workflows.

  • Contact → Tags: create a tag with a name (up to 50 characters) and a colour.
  • Click a tag’s contact count to see everyone who has it.
  • If you delete a tag, it’s removed from all contacts.

Select contacts and use the bulk menu to:

  • Assign to Groups or Unassign from Groups
  • Block Contacts or Unblock Contacts
  • Trigger Workflow: run a manual workflow for the selected people

The Duplicate Contacts card shows numbers that appear more than once. Open Manage Duplicate Contacts to review them, or use Auto-Merge High Confidence to clean up the obvious ones in one click.
